Welcome, I’m Julia Coburn

My Story

I was born and raised in Vermont, where winters make you contemplate why anyone would live there, but the people stick around. Growing up there meant going to Catamount hockey games and watching strangers become a community for a few hours every week. I thought I was going to be a lawyer like my grandmother. I wanted to do contract law because I liked the idea of wording things just right. Then in high school, I watched the first season of Drive to Survive on Netflix and realized I wanted to work behind the scenes in sports.

Vermont is where I learned my fascination with fandom, what makes people care, connect, and stay loyal. That's why I went to DePaul to study PR and Advertising and Sports Communication, so I could work in media relations, sponsorship, brand management, and consumer promotion. Anywhere I could build bridges between brands and people. When I'm not working, you'll find me on the mountain or at a concert.

Personal Interests

In my free time, I am passionate about skiing. Spending time on the mountain allows me to challenge myself in different conditions. Riding chairlifts with strangers has helped me develop communication skills and comfort connecting with new people. Skiing teaches me to be intentional, confident, and adaptable, skills that are important in all areas of my life. This interest brings me joy while strengthening my abilities. It shapes how I approach things both on and off the mountain.
